my proposed constitutional amendments


THIS IS AN EXPLORATION OF VARIOUS CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS THAT I WRITTEN. I HOPE THAT THESE AMENDMENTS GET ADOPTED, BUT I REALIZE THAT IS PROBABLY A LONG-SHOT.

THE EQUAL CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT

     SECTION1.  EQUALITY OF RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW SHALL NOT BE DENIED OR ABRIDGED BY THE         UNITED STATES OR BY ANY STATE ON THE ACCOUNT OF POLITICAL AFFILIATION OR SEXUAL             ORIENTATION.

 

     SECTION2. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ARTICLE, "POLITICAL AFFILIATION" SHALL BE DEFINED       AS ENDORSING OR BELONGING TO ANY VOLUNTARY AND NONVIOLENT POLITICAL PARTY OR SIMILIAR       POLITICAL ORANIZATION THAT EXISTS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

 

     SECTION3. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ARTICLE, "SEXUAL ORIENTATION" SHALL BE DEFINED AS       HAVING OR BEING PERCEIVED AS HAVING AN EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL OR SEXUAL ATTACHMENT TO         ANOTHER PERSON WITHOUT REGARD TO THE SEX OF THAT PERSON OR HAVING OR BEING PERCEIVED       AS HAVING AN ORIENTATION FOR SUCH ATTACHMENT, OR HAVING OR BEING PERCEIVED AS HAVING       A SELF-IMAGE OR IDENTITY NOT TRADITIONALLY ASSOCIATED WITH ONE'S BIOLOGICAL MALENESS       OR FEMALENESS.  IT SHALL NOT INCLUDE A PHYSICAL OR SEXUAL ATTACHMENT TO CHILDREN BY         AN ADULT. 

RIGHT TO PRIVACY AMENDMENT (WITH A POSSIBLE COMPROMISE ON ABORTION LAW)

     SECTION1.  NO CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO ARBITRARY, CRUEL OR       UNUSUAL INTERFERENCE WITH HIS OR HER PRIVACY, FAMILY, HOME, MEDICAL DOCUMENTS,             CORRESPONDENCE OR ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS.

 

     SECTION2.  ALL ABORTION LAW INCLUDING RULES, REGULATIONS, PROHIBTIONS AND PUBLIC

     SUBSIDES SHALL BE DETERMINED IN EACH RESPECTIVE STATE DIRECTLY BY THE PEOPLE THROUGH       AN INITIATIVE AND REFRENDUM PROCESS.  NO FEDERAL OR STATE COURT SHALL HAVE ANY

     JURISIDCTION OVER ABORTION LAW, EXCEPT WHEN IT IS NECESSARY AND PROPER TO SETTLE LEGAL

     DISPUTES INVOLVING THE TIME, MANNER, PROCEDURE AND RESULTS OF THE STATE INITIATIVE AND

     REFRENDUM PROCESS. 

 

     SECTION3.  THE TIME, MANNER AND PROCEDURE FOR ALL STATE INITATIVE AND REFRENDRUM           MENTIONED IN THIS ARTICLE SHALL BE TRANSPARENT, FREE AND FAIR. THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN         SAID INITIATIVE AND REFRENDRUM   SHALL NOT BE DENIED OR ABRIDGED BY THE UNITED STATES       OR BY ANY STATE ON THE ACCOUNT OF RACE, COLOR, CREED, ETHNIC OR NATIONAL ANCESTRY,         SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, POLITICAL AFFILIATION, PHYSICAL DISABILITY, INCOME, VETERANS       STATUS, STATUS WITH REGARDS TO PUBLIC ASSISTENCE, FAILURE TO PAY ANY TAX OR FEE OR         AGE WHEN THE CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES HAS REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD. 

LABOR RIGHTS AMENDMENT

     SECTION1.  EVERY CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO FREE CHOICE OF       LAWFUL EMPLOYMENT, TO JUST AND FAVORABLE CONDITIONS OF WORK AND TO PROTECTION AGAINST       UNEMPLOYMENT.  

 

     SECTION2.  EVERY CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO PEACEFULLY FORM       AND JOIN TRADE UNIONS, IN THEIR CIVILIAN PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT, FOR THE PROTECTION OF   

     HIS OR HER INTERESTS.  

 

DEFENSE OF POLITICAL LIBERTY AMENDMENT

     SECTION1.  ELECTIONS SHALL BE FREE, FAIR AND EQUAL.  NO CIVIL OR MILITARY POWER SHALL,

     AT ANY TIME, INTERFERE WITH THE FREE EXERCISE OF THE RIGHT OF CITIZENS OF THE UNITED       STATES TO VOTE FOR THE BALLOT MEASURE, WHERE APPLICABLE, CANDIDATE AND OR POLITICAL

     PARTY OR OTHER SIMILAR POLITICAL ORGANIZATION, WHERE APPLICABLE, OF THE CITIZEN'S OWN       CHOICE.  NOR SHALL ANY BAN ON WRITE-IN VOTES BE ENACTED OR ENFORCED BY THE UNITED

     STATES OR BY ANY STATE.  NOR SHALL THE ELECTION BALLOT BE REGULATED IN SUCH A WAY AS       TO DISCOURAGE OR STIFFLE ELECTORAL COMPETITION.  

 

     SECTION2.  EVERY CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE, SHALL HAVE

     THE RIGHT TO PEACEFULLY FORM, ASSOCIATE WITH, RECRUIT MEMBERS FOR AND CAMPAIGN FOR         THEIR OWN POLITICAL PARTY AND OTHER SIMILAR POLITICAL ORGANIZATIONS. ALL POLITICAL         PARTIES AND OTHER SIMILAR POLITICAL ORGANIZATIONS SHALL BE FREE TO COMPETE WITH EACH

     OTHER ON THE BASIS EQUAL RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES UNDER THE LAW.
